GoEuro has looked at over 1000 cities with a beach in Europe and chosen the best 100 according to the beach's quality, travel convenience, watersports, nightlife and temperature. Unsurprisingly, Palma de Mallorca has reached number three making it one of the best destinations for a summer city break in the continent.

With 97.4 points over 100, Palma has achieved number 3 only after the Spanish town of Alicante and the Italian city of Catania, in Sicily. According to GoEuro, these destinations offer "the perfect combination of city buzz and beachside bliss". Not only that, but Palma has also been chosen as the best summer city break for watersports in Spain.

With some of the best beaches on the island nearby, an international airport with connections all over the continent, world-renowned restaurants and beach clubs, an impressive amount of activities on offer, stunning sights to visit and a range of magnificent boutique hotels to stay in, it comes as no surprise that Palma has made it high into the list.
