As one of the most famous and culturally significant buildings in Mallorca, there are new requests from ARCA (Associació per a la Revitalització dels Centres Antics) to ban parking around the building.

The proposal presented by ARCA two years ago was that the residents could park in the evening, but during the day the space should stay clear to respect the heritage of the environment. They also argued that the same should happen on the square that is the entrance to the Diocesan Museum and the building Drac de na Coca. In addition, the space between Carrer Mirador and Carrer Palau, is usually busy during the day with stationary taxis.

ARCA says that removing these vehicles will allow for a better view and more pleasant atmosphere around Palma's greatest monument and is sure to benefit tourism in the area and help preserve this historical place. "We are convinced that it's most important monument Palmas would come in a highly beneficial if you would banish both the cars and the taxis of the places".
