Known for his terrifying rendition of Euron Greyjoy - Lord of the Iron Islands - in Game of Thrones, Danish actor Johan Philip 'Pilou' Asbæk has a close relationship with the town of Andratx where he has holidayed for the last 26 years.

This week he visited the town hall where he met Andratx's mayor, Katia Rouarch, a good friend of his. At the press conference that took place at Son Mas Castle, he praised Mallorca's beauty as well as its suitability as a film location thanks to its Mediterranean light and lack of rain.

Pilou's visit is linked to a collaboration he has started with the local government to promote the island as a destination among Scandinavians who spend a 30% more here on average than the British. This campaign will steer away from the traditional tourism of beach and sun that has been traditionally developed on the island by focusing on the Serra de Tramuntana and its inland villages. The actor also expressed his hope to stimulate the shooting of more films in Mallorca in the next few years.

Asbæk even took the chance to explore CCA Andratx, the largest centre of contemporary art in Mallorca and a project that was created by his parents.
