Experts Predict a Very Good Wine Harvest in Mallorca this Year

Favourable meteorological conditions mean high-quality grapes

With the grape harvest in full swing, specialists predict that there will be large quantities of fruit and that it will be of very good quality. This is due to this year's weather conditions, with rains in April and March and high temperatures in June and July which allowed sugars to develop.

In fact, the grape picking season has come earlier this year. The first estate to start, Can Ribas in Consell, began as early as August 7th with many of the other vineyards in the centre of the island following close after that.

The first grapes to be harvested are the white varieties, such as Viogner, Chardonnay or Moscatel. The red ones are being picked now.
