Sea pollution is one of the main struggles in Mallorca, mainly because of the plastics arriving to the coastline from the north of Africa or even from boats. Two Australian surfers living in Palma think they have found a possible solution: the Seabin.

Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski have designed and developed the Seabin in Palma de Mallorca. They are currently testing their prototypes at the Real Club Nautico marina. Their invention is basically a water pump that brings floating rubbish to a bin that can be fixed to a floating dock. It can work all day, every day and it is low cost.

If you are interested in the project, you can help them develop their Seabin by participating in their crowdfunding at Indiegogo.
