TaPalma Tapas Festival is one of Mallorca's most popular gastronomic celebrations. The concept is quite simple: restaurants and bars in Palma serve a special tapa and/or a cocktail and visitors can try them and vote for their favourite one.

Ca Na Joana restaurant, in Palma's Génova area, won the Golden TaPalma 2016. This prize is granted by a jury of internationally renowned professional chefs, who recognised their 'Tempura of scallop aromatised with Kaffir, tomato sponge and Parmesan cheese with braised octopus with kimchee and sea air'.

Another jury made up of bloggers, journalist and influencers chose the best thematic tapa, which went to the 'Salmon tortellini' served at San Juan Gastronomic Market. The public also had their say and could vote via the Rutappa, a mobile app that allowed them to choose their favourite tapa. They picked the amusingly named 'Tú que sabes de mar esto es una sepia o un calamar' ('You, who know a lot about the sea, is this cuttlefish or squid?') by Bruselas Steakhouse restaurant.

The best drink was awarded to Bolsa del Marítimo nightclub's 'Liquorice Gin & Tonic', while 'Adriana Lima', a concoction made by barman Ursula Truyols from Bar Nicolás, won the best cocktail prize.
