Beach Bars in Mallorca

In addition to the smart beach clubs that Mallorca has to offer, there are a number of more relaxed beach bars where you can enjoy food and drink either right on the beach or right next door to the beach.

These are the places to simply enjoy good company and a good view. They differ from the beach clubs in that very few offer sun loungers and you don't need to be wearing your Prada sandals to make an impression. Opening times are approximate and change from season to season, depending on when Easter falls, and the weather! Some are just shacks, others more like beach restaurants. There are of course, bars on most of the beaches in Mallorca, but the ones we have listed here have (in our opinion) the most to offer.

North East Mallorca

Cala Torta
One of the more remote beach bars can be found at Cala Torta, up the coast from Cala Ratjada. You can either walk to it from Cala Mesquida along the coast, or drive down a dirt track that takes you reasonably close to the beach, if your car is happy to rattle that far. The beach bar is fairly basic, but has a good reputation for fresh fish, and the bay is also popular as a stop off for yachts. The facilities are basic as you may expect at such a remote spot but this is exactly what appeals to many of the visitors who come here.

Sunshine Bar, Son Serra de Marina
This beach bar on the north coast has a great setting on a wild and remote beach with mountains in the background - far removed from the more typical resort beach - but it is also easily accessible by car. The bar is open from March to November and caters for a range of clientele, from kite surfers to tourists. It  It has a German flavour to it, has wifi and serves food and drinks all day.

South West Mallorca

Barracuda Beach Bar, Magaluf
A relative newcomer to Magaluf, Barracuda is where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, all accompanied by cocktails and DJ’s  playing house music. You can try some watersports whilst here, and there  are sun loungers available. Regular party evenings are held during the high season. Open from the end of April to the beginning of October, you can find it on the eastern end of Magaluf beach by Torrenova.

El Chiringuito,  Costa de la Calma
Popular beach bar in the small resort of Costa de la Calma. They host regular live music events as well as BBQ’s throughout the summer. In addition to the wonderful sunsets here, their Sangria is highly rated! It is open from 11.00am until 01.00am.

Il Chiringo, Palmanova
Il Chiringo is a popular bar & restaurant right on the beach in Palmanova. It’s open all day from 10.00am to midnight serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, accompanied by groovy tunes and drinks. It is situated in the middle of Playa Palmanova beach.

Roxys Beach Bar, Portal Nous
A great little beach bar at the end of Playa Oratori in Portal Nous. It sits on a rocky promontary at the eastern end of the beach (so has wonderful sunsets) and is a firm favourite with locals, yachties (tender service available) and tourists alike. With an Ibiza-esque soundtrack playing throughout the day, it has a cool vibe going on. Along with beers, cocktails and addictive Sangria, it serves food all day. There are a couple of sun loungers in addition to the seating areas, but you have to be there early to grab them. Open from 10.00am until 10.00pm, from May until October.

North West Mallorca

Royal Beach, Alcudia
This beach bar has been in operation for many years now, and is perhaps more of a restaurant and lounge bar than a beach bar. It has a great setting right on the beach though, and they also host live music evenings. It is located towards Playa de Muro and is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 11.00am until 01.00am.

Ponderosa Beach, Playa de Muro
Another establishment which is more of a beach restaurant than bar, but is so nicely done, we had to include it. It is one of the few places where you can actually eat with sand between your toes! Decorated in true beachy style with pale wooden floors and stripy towels, it also has a beach boutique. Not only does it have an excellent reputation for food (organic where possible), it hosts regular nights with DJ’s and live music. It is open from 9.00am until midnight, and closes in October. You'll find it at the end of Playa de Muro, where it meets Can Picafort.

Floridita Beach Bar, Alcudia
Another proper beach bar actually on the sand. You'll find it towards the southern end of Alcudia beach, just beyond the lagoon. Relaxed and child friendly, it's a lovely spot to grab a drink or a snack. It's open all day long from 10.00am for breakfast, until 11.30pm and serves food and drinks throughout, all to a chill-out soundtrack. It opens in May and closes in October.

East Mallorca

Cala Sa Nau
Cala Sa Nau is located in a small cove 3km north of Cala d'Or. It is a place to escape the crowds of the east coast resorts. Comfy bamboo sun loungers are available on this beautiful beach. The beach bar is open from 9.00am until 11.00pm and serves snacks, juices, cocktails as well as more substantial dishes such as paella. On Friday and Saturday afternoons, DJ’s or live musicians play for your dancing pleasure!

Beach Bar & Bsitro, s'Illot
Situated on the east coast, this popular bar sits just opposite the beach in the heart of s'Illot. Friendly and relaxed, it serves food all day long to an eclectic music selection. Whilst the bar is situated on the promenade, the beach is accessible from the sun terrace. It is open from May until October.

South Mallorca

S’Embat, Ses Covetes
A beach bar with a difference, S’Embat only opens at 4.00pm and specialises in shows and concerts. Strictly speaking, it is not on the beach, but just one street back. We have included it here because of it’s unique atmosphere. With live music, great food and cocktails, it is a place where you can go after a day on the beaches of Sa Rapita or Es Trenc. The bar hosts regular circus performances as well as live music and other entertainments. It is closed on Mondays.
