The Fira de Tardor (Autumn Fair) in Sa Pobla is one of Mallorcas biggest. Thousands of people flock the streets of this town during the last weekend of November, and the fair offers the typical markets of local produce and handicrafts. In addition, there are demonstrations by master craftsmen, and of marshal arts by local children. Plenty of concerts are programmed with modern rock bands complementing the traditional music of the xeremier (Majorcan bagpipes).
Nit de Foc, or the direct English translation ‘Night of Fire’, is one of Mallorca’s biggest fiestas. A raucous evening of bonfires, beach parties, midnight swims, music and dancing until dawn. What more could you possibly want from a Friday evening in Mallorca? I was extremely excited to get involved this year, as there had been a lot of hype in the lead up to the evening with locals, expats and tourists all getting involved.
One of the best times of the year to visit Mallorca is during the month of May. The temperatures start to rise and the lack of tourists means that you can get around without being stuck in traffic jams. More importantly, the month of May is when the little known town of Capdepera in the north east of the island hosts its Medieval ‘Fira’.
May usually provides the perfect temperature to get out and explore the best of this magical island. There's a buzz in the air as the island gears up for summer. We've whittled down a list of our favourite events and things to see and do in May.
Most towns on the island have their own Carnival over the weekend, with the largest parties to be found in Palma where the main events are the Rueta (children) and Rua (adults) parades. So do as the locals do, and pick your costume for an unforgettable weekend that both children and adults will enjoy.
Nikki Beach are famous for their exceptional parties, and Dubai Meets Mallorca on Saturday 3rd September was yet again another amazing event with a fantastic, fun filled atmosphere.
The Esporles Sweet Fair began in 2005 and is held on the first Sunday of October to guarantee fine weather. The event is becoming increasingly popular and diverse with every passing year and offers a unique opportunity to meet the people who make a fine range of traditional, homemade and, often, organic foods including wines, cakes, pastries, jams and sweets. If you were in Palma on Friday night, you might have wondered what was going at the Parque del Mar, in front of the Cathedral. A massive pair of inflatable legs stretched out from the centre of a dazzling stage complete with bright red heels.
This was the 13th year of the Pollença Wine Fair which showcases the best in Mallorcan wines. It was held at the Claustre de Sant Domingo in Pollença on 16 and 17 April 2016 and was possibly the most important event on the island that weekend.

The 4th edition of the Mallorca Open sent tennis fanatics into a frenzy on the island. Between June 17th and 23rd 2019, under the leadership of Toni Nadal, this WTA international tennis tournament hosted some of the world’s best female tennis stars competing for the $250,000 prize money up for grabs.
The Dijous Bo autumn fair is held in Inca on the fourth Thursday after the feast of St Luke (18th October) in November, and is the largest fair of its kind in Mallorca. As with most of Majorca's autumn fairs, it originated as an agricultural fair celebrating the harvest, and has since grown to include a range of sporting and cultural entertainments.

La Patrona Festival – it’s Moors V’s Christians in an epic battle re-enactment in Pollenca
The sun is shining and Soller is getting ready for a major fiesta - the Firo that celebrates the battle between the Moors and the Christians that happened on our beach and in our town. The 450th anniversary of the event is taking place from 5th to 9th May 2011. Flags are already festooning houses and shops all over the valley and the nature of the people means that they usually have both flags dangling from their balconies - as if they can't quite decide who to support. The Balearic flag is often alongside so all aspects of life and country are represented.
Palma Boat Show 2017 saw more than 500 exhibitors representing almost 4000 boat and marine brands in front of the city’s iconic cathedral, between Friday 28th April and Tuesday 2nd May 2017.
This fun fair (or Feria to the Spanish) is a large-scale amusement park located in Son Fusteret, on the outskirts of Palma de Mallorca between February 27th-April 10th 2016.
Nikki Beach’s White Party has become a world famous social affair and is, without a doubt, one of the biggest events of the year in Mallorca. Anybody who’s anybody wants to be seen at this particular party. This year, I went along to see what all the fuss was about.
