The body of Nadine Duffy will be brought back to Scotland from the Mallorca beach resort of Magaluf for burial after £10 000 was raised by a Facebook campaign.

The nineteen year old from Dundee died last week in an apparent suicide in the holiday resort of Magaluf where she had been working this summer. An online auction and Facebook group was set up to raise the £10 000 to bring Nadine home. Yesterday that target was reached.

A posting on the social media site said: “ just letting everyone know That the £ 10,000 needed to bring Nadine home has been raised, and the money is still coming in for the Duffy family to help with funeral costs, Anything that is left over wioll go in a trust fund in memory of Nadine to Might help other families who find Themselves In this sort of dilemma, well done to everyone who Helped raise This Money and Dundee Should be very proud of Themselves Nadine rip xxx “

Karen Duffy, Nadine's mother, and her sister travelled out to Magaluf and will bring Nadine's body back to Scotland today.

The last thing Nadine posted on Facebook was “Miss you Ricky Flynn” and it is thought that she was still deeply saddened by the death of her Ricky Flynn, who was her best friend, who died in 2010.

A remembrance will be held in Dundee's Baxter Park next Friday with a releasing of Chinese lanterns near the memorial bench to Ricky Flynn.

Nadine's sister Shelley wrote on Facebook: “We can now bring my beautiful baby sis home and give her the send-off she deserves.
“Every single person involved should be extremely proud of themselves. What an amazing city we live in. I’m very proud to be from Dundee.”
