Mallorca Hell's Angel Frank Hanebuth, the leader of the Hannovarian Chapter of the Hell's Angels, was arrested along with 23 other gang members this week.

Hanebuth had fled Germany in 2009 while under investigation by the police and had been living in Mallorca. He was suspected of heading a criminal operation involved in drug trafficking, money laundering, extorsion and prostitution.

According to the Mallorcan press the gang would approach victims of extortion with a detailed folder on the victims movements and habits as well as those of their families and then demand hundreds of thousands of Euros.

The Hell's Angels in Mallorca had been living comfortable lifestyles on the island and were involved in potential business deals worth millions. At the time of his arrest Hanebuth was living in a 2.5 million Euro farm on Mallorca and the gang had begun investing money in legitimate businesses, like the construction of a Formula 1 circuit in Mallorca. The police have also seized eight luxury cars, a boat, motorbikes and watches, jewellery and fire arms

Since his arrest Mr Hanebuth has refused to answer any questions relating to the charges and has been placed in jail by Judge Eloy Velesco. As he left the court house Mr Hanebuth bragged to reporters “This is an extension of the holidays.”

Eight other members of the gang were questioned by Mr Valesco yesterday and today members of the Civil Guard, Palma Local Police and National Police involved with the Hell's Angels will appear before the judge.
