Human skeletal remains were found after construction work took place on an area of private land in Felanitx.

The remains have been dated to around the 2nd century AD, during Roman times. Little is known of the Roman history in Mallorca and so this find is of particular interest and significance. A total of twelve graves and remains of a pottery kiln have been uncovered so far.

Archaeologist Sebastià Munar Llabrés is directing the excavation, and says they have found "rectangular pits dug in the ground and covered with stone slabs."

These are not the only Roman finds in the area and as yet there has been no scientific analysis of the findings. They are also currently working on an excavation in Pollentia where there are already numerous Roman ruins that have been uncovered.
