If you’re looking for a peaceful and elegant spot for an evening drink then look no further than Gin & Tonic Corner, the quite little cocktail bar of the stylish Hotel Illa D’Or, located on Puerto Pollenca’s Pine Walk area.

The Pine Walk is the beautiful and desirable waterfront stretch of Puerto Pollenca town, it plays host to some stunning villas and restaurants as well as little coves and sandy beaches that attract tourists and locals alike. A favourite spot for fitness enthusiasts who cycle, run and dog walk along this stretch it is also a popular spot for a pre dinner promenade and is often filled with photographers surrounded by perfect backdrops of stone jetties, peaceful yachts, ageing pine trees, sandy coves and beautiful sunsets.

The pine walk, beautiful though it is, gets a little crowded with all these pleasure seekers but if you want to enjoy its more peaceful glory then just walk further along until you’re past the commercial strip of restaurants and you come across the Illa D’Or Hotel and its quiet little waterfront bar "Gin & Tonic Corner".

The hotel has a dedicated waterfront restaurant and another one indoors each with their own excellent chefs, stunning menus, dedicated bars and extensive wine collections, but Gin & Tonic Corner is a bar away from all that. Its separate from the restaurants, open to guests of the hotel and passers by alike and deals only in drinks and a few light snacks. Open all day and into the night for drinks pre beach, post swim, before dinner or for night caps, this bar’s there for you whenever you fancy it, but set as it is in a beautiful spot over looking the water, sunset is the time when it’s view is at its best.

Take a seat and look out over the calm water with yachts bobbing away in all directions, look back towards Puerto Pollenca main town and all the way around the bay to Alcudia. Watch the water turn milky as the sky goes pink at sunset and see the lights of the town flicker on one by one. Enjoy sitting under one of the old pine trees that give the area its name and people watch the few who make it this far down the promenade and of course work your way through the cocktail menu or sample a fancy G&T.

Choose from premium gins including Hendricks, Martin Miller’s or Citadelle, and mix in one of their range of tonic waters and try a G&T flavoured with cinnamon, cardamom, cucumber, grapefruit, mango or strawberry. Switch out the Gin for a premium vodka instead and watch as the elegantly dressed serving staff mix your personal choice in a large glass at your table. Go for a cocktail and enjoy a Mallorcan twist on a Long Island Iced Tea or Mojito, cool off with a frozen Strawberry Daiquiri, get tropical with a Mai Tai or Pina Colada, or stay classic with a Gin Fizz, Mimosa, Dry Martini or champagne cocktail. Beers, wines and soft drinks are also available and aren’t too expensive - cocktails start at €4.50 and go up to around €10.

The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and peaceful, the friendly and impeccably turned out bar staff are happy to let you sit as long as you want and are efficient and discreet in their service. Exclusive though the hotel is Gin & Tonic Corner is open to any one and you’ll find yourself sat amongst families heading back from a day at the beach, elegant pre-dinner couples, locals with happy wet dogs in tow and groups on their way out for the night.

A great spot to sit and enjoy a quiet evening with good drinks, great company and beautiful views.
