It's a delight to step into Mari-Lin Café-Lounge. It has a definite Parisian vibe. Swirling grey marble top tables are decorated with single stems of pink carnations, there are rose-coloured rattan chairs and the walls are hung with oil paintings and cast brass candelabras. While the interior offers a setting of relaxed sophistication, those wanting to enjoy the sunshine and a spot of people-watching will love the alfresco seating.
The location couldn't be more perfect for those indulging in a weekend break to the capital. Situated behind the bustling pedestrianised shopping street of Sant Miquel, visitors are a stone's throw away from a number of must-see sights such as the Plaza Mayor and the Grand Hotel.
A small restaurant but very accommodating. During my visit, a party of twenty-two turned up without a reservation and were catered for without a fuss. Of course in summer, when it gets busier this might not be as simple, but you get the impression the waiters will do their utmost to please.
