1. Calo d'es Burgit Beach, South-East Mallorca

Calo d'es Burgit is a small bay on the south east coast of Mallorca, just around the corner from Cala Mondrago and within the protected Mondrago Natural Park.

This small beach is surrounded by low cliffs which make for excellent viewpoints, covered in pine trees. Its unspoilt appearance is strengthened by its fine golden sand and the lack of buildings surrounding it making it a great choice for those in search of some peace and quiet.

A popular cove with mooring yachts thanks to its favourable anchoring conditions, accessing the beach by land requires some walking.

Hotels Nearby
There is nowhere to stay on the beach here, so the closest option is arguably Cala d'Or, which offers a range of accommodation mainly designed for families, or if you'd like to stay somewhere more traditional in Mallorca, try the inland town of Santanyi.

Restaurants Nearby
The nearest option is on Cala Mondrago, only 500 metres away, where there is a beach ‘chiringuito’ serving traditional mallorcan tapas. Alternatively, there is a good selection of restaurants in Cala d'Or serving Mediterranean cuisine, a range of tapas and international food.

Cala Sa Nau Beach

2. Cala Sa Nau Beach

Location
Cala d'Or

Escape the crowds on the beaches of Cala d'Or by heading 3 km north to the bay of Cala Sa Nau. This relaxed beach is surrounded by pine trees and is very picturesque.

You'll find very comfy bamboo sunloungers for hire here as well as showers and toilets. There is also a beach bar that sells drinks and snacks.

You'll need your own transport to get here - car parking costs €3.50 for the day. Or take a boat trip if you can, the bay is popular with private boats.

The closest resorts are Cala d'Or to the south and Porto Colom, around 3 km to the north.

Cala Mondrago

3. Cala Mondrago Beach, South-East Mallorca

Considered one of Mallorca's most beautiful areas with its sand dunes, pine forests, beautiful coastline and rocky coves, Cala Mondrago, (often referred to as ‘Caló de n’Alis’) has formed part of Mondrago National Park since 1992, greatly benefitting from the disallowing of any further development.

Here, you’ll find sun loungers and parasols to rent, lifeguards are on duty during peak season and the beach offers facilities such as toilets, showers, disabled access and a free car park.

Despite its seclusion, this beach is often still very popular during the summer months. If you’re arriving late morning, and find there's too many people already, you can always try the larger bay of S'Aramador beach, a 400m walk east along the scenic coastline. Alternatively wait until the evening to enjoy the best this beach has to offer.

Hotels
There are a couple of hotels within easy reach of Cala Mondrago, alternatively the closest resort is Cala d'Or, which offers a whole host of options mainly designed for families, or if you'd like to stay somewhere more traditional in Mallorca, try the inland village of Santanyi.

Restaurants
A handful of bars and restaurants serving up traditional Mediterranean gastronomy offer daily refreshments on the beach. Alternatively, there is a good selection of restaurants in Cala d'Or serving Mediterranean cuisine, Spanish tapas and international food.

Cala Santanyi Beach

4. Cala Santanyi Beach, South-East Mallorca

Location
Santanyi

Located in a pretty cove with lovely fine sand, surrounded by rocky cliffs and pine forests, it’s no wonder Cala Santanyi is such a popular beach amongst those staying within the large resort-style hotels in this area. It's more than likely to be crowded with the lucky holidaymakers who have tumbled out of their hotel bedrooms onto the sand directly below.

At 130 metres long and around 80 metres wide, the beach can easily accommodate the crowd so expect to find yourself amongst happy families dutifully arranging their towels and snorkels.

A mini mart and a few casual beach cafes or restaurants can be found in the petite village of Cala Santanyi (not to be confused with the village of Santanyi further north and inland… offering extensive local and international cuisine, as well as regular live music).

5. Cala Llombards Beach, South-East Mallorca

Unbeknown to most foreigners, this super beach is mainly visited by those who live or rent in the surrounding area, making it somewhat of a local delicacy away from hoards of tourists.

Rocky outcrops board the beach's edges offering some worthy diving territory and snorkelling exploration. The depth of the bay’s inlet provides lengthy shallow waters perfect for families with little ones. It’s a lovely place to take a swim, go for a paddle, or simply float around on your lilo.

There are outdoor showers and public toilets, as well as sunbeds and parasols available to rent.

Restaurants

With limited commercial facilities directly on the beach itself, there are no bars or restaurants directly on the sand but it's a perfect place for a picnic. Near to the small village of Es Llombards, there is a small residential area near the beach where you can find a few restaurants, cafes and convenience stores within walking distance of the beach with local Spanish cuisine.

Nightlife

You won't find any nightlife here, but if you’re looking for some tapas, a cold beer and a bit of atmosphere, the town of Santanyi is a 10 minute drive from the beach and Cala d’Or is your nearest party scene, just 8km away or 15 minutes drive.

Hotels

You’ll mainly find rental accommodation or residential properties with dreamy sea views here. There are no beachfront hotels here which only adds to the exclusive and secluded feel.

S'Amarador beach, Mallorca

6. S'Amarador Beach, South-East Mallorca

S’Amarador is an award-winning glorious white sand beach that is part of the protected Mondrago National Park (south east Majorca, close to Cala d'Or), and so is beautifully unspoilt.

This is one of our favourite beaches on Mallorca - its relatively isolated location means only those with cars or boats can access it. There are sunbeds and parasols to rent, and a small bar for refreshments. Toilets and showers are available.

Free car parking is available about a five minute walk away.

The closest resort to s'Aramador beach is Cala d'Or and you can read all about it in our Guide to Cala d'Or. Alternatively, you could try staying in the close-by rural village of Santanyi, which has some boutique hotels and a very good weekly market.
