Mainly cycle paths on the road with fantastic scenery in the north west
Beginner (or intermediate if you want to ride it at pace!) cycle route that uses the purpose built paths around the Alcudia area.
The cycle ride commences in Alcúdia, from where you head towards the Port of Pollença. Following the 8 km of cycle path that runs around the Bay of Pollença you will reach the port. At this point, those who are more accustomed to cycling may wish to continue around the bay to visit Cap Formentor. This is a fairly challenging twisty and hilly road with amazing views of the hills and the sea.
A shorter option would to be carry on to the scenic viewpoint of Colomer, which is on the way to Cap Formentor, and also affords wonderful views from a designated scenic viewpoint. With or without this detour, from Port de Pollenca you should continue to head in the direction of the town of Pollença. Just short of 2 km before you arrive at Pollenca, you can choose to go down to the Cala de Sant Vicenç, a pretty seaside resort. Or you can continue on and reach Pollença. From Pollenca, you can cycle back along Cami de Llenaire, a quieter road that will take you back to the bay of Pollenca and the way home to Alcudia.
The total distance will be 40 km if you choose to continue up to the scenic viewpoint of Formentor and 33 kms if you include Cala Sant Vicenç.
Itinerary: Alcúdia - Puerto de Pollença - Pollença - Alcúdia.
Distance: 25 km
Difficulty: Very simple excursion on relatively flat ground
