Boutique hotel renovated to a high standard
Situated in the heart of Pollensa, Can Aulí is a luxurious five-star retreat.
Housed in a 17th-century manor house in Pollensa, the property offers lavish interiors with patios & balconies, and Italian Renaissance architecture.
The hotel has 21 cosy rooms including a suite with a large terrace and bath. The other rooms comprise deluxe and premium options and a junior suite. All rooms include a plasma screen TV, minibar and kettle.
After a day out wine tasting or biking around Pollensa, you can look forward to returning to the hotel to relax by the walled garden with pool. There's also a therapy room on the ground floor where you can indulge in a range of massages and treatments.
Like the restaurant, the modern bar is out of step with the rest of hotel's traditional decoration. It has floor to ceiling white shelving displaying a wide variety of wines and spirits that can be enjoy either on the beautiful covered terrace or in the low lights of the bar itself.
The restaurant in contrast to the hotel, is very much in the 21st century with modern art covering the walls, dark ceilings and hanging lamps. It offers a first rate Mediterranean tapas menu using local, fresh, seasonal ingredients.

People argue over whether the mountains or the coast represent 'the real Mallorca', but the heart of the island is to be found in villages like this. The bars are frequented by local farmers and make few concessions to tourism; there is nothing to see as such, just marvellous views across to the Tramuntana where the mountains rise out of the plain.
The neighbouring villages of Portol and Sa Cabaneta, between Palma and Santa Maria del Cami, have become something of an artists colony. Unlike in Deia and Banyalbufar, though, the artists are Mallorcan - potters taking advantage of the rich local soil.
Ciudad Jardin lies to the east of Palma, just along the bay from Portixol and Molinar and close to the airport. It's pretty much at the centre of Palma Bay and, after the transformation of neighbouring areas Portixol and Molinar, it has been heralded as the next 'up and coming' place for the cool and trendy set of Mallorca.
