Beautiful little beach with a fantastic promenade in the north of Mallorca
A lovely sandy beach to soak up the rays, away from the large scale tourist resort beaches in the north of Mallorca.
The beach of Colonia de Sant Pere claims fine golden sand and crystal clear waters. It's located next to the port and the small town of Colonia de Sant Pere's seafront promenade in the Bay of Alcudia.
There are no sun lounges and sunshades to rent at the beach, so bring your own things to provide for a comfortable day out at the beach. Showers can be found at the edge of the beach. A jetty protects the beach from the waves although it is advisable not to get too far from the shore, as this bay doesn't have a lot of protection from the waves and this area is quite popular amongst surfers.
The town of Colonia de Sant Pere is relatively small, but offers enough to keep the locals content throughout the year and has a good selection of restaurants open in the summer months, especially along the promenade. There are just a handful of hotels in this area, but quite a few holiday homes and apartments to rent.
It is not a problem to find a parking space in the streets behind the beach, even in the peak summer time.
The waters are crystalline blue and relatively shallow travelling in from the beach, making it pretty child friendly, but be warned, the waves do get quite big the further out you go.
The beach in Colonia de Sant Pere is 80 metres long and around 30 metres wide, made from golden sand and stones.
There are no water sports offered on the beach, but surfers are fond of this area for the large waves to the north-east of this little beach.
