Unassigned to any of the island’s numerous holiday resorts, the stunning beach of Es Trenc is geographically fairly isolated with a wonderful wild and natural feel. With 2km of bleached white sand and transparent water, it's often referred to as more Caribbean than Mediterranean in characteristics.

If you are looking for a beach where you can get away from it all, then Es Carbo may be the one for you. A 30 minute walk east from Colonia St Jordi in the south of Mallorca, it is a vast stretch of white sand that sits in a protected bay.

Also known as Platja de Sa Ràpita, an alternative to Es Trenc is the beautiful neighbouring beach at S’Arenal de sa Rapita in the southeast of Majorca. It is much quieter than Es Trenc, and is popular with families, surfers and windsurfers.

Found on the west side of Mallorca’s most southern tip, Es Caragol is wonderful if you enjoy sunbathing somewhere a little more remote than your usual tourist spot.

Es Racó de S'Arena offers a complete escape from the bustle of tourists and is great for exploring or walking. If you're lucky, you could find yourself completely alone here. Even when there are other people, there is enough space to carve out an area which feels private.

Porreres is located inland in the south-east area of Mallorca. Having arrived to Porreres, any local person should be able to show you the road up to sanctuary, which formely housed a College of Humanities, one of the threee most important of rural Majorca.

Colonia de Sant Jordi is a small, vibrant resort town located on the southeastern coast of Mallorca, near the famous Es Trenc beach.

Ses Covetes is on the south east coast of Mallorca, and is a purpose built little resort with just a couple of cafes and some holiday accommodation.

Ses Salines is a small village in the south east of Mallorca. It and its associated port Colonia St Jordi have a rich history thanks to its location on fertile land. Known for its salt flats, slow pace and understated charm, think stone houses, palm-lined streets and easy access to beautiful beaches like Es Trenc. With relaxed cafés, creative shops and a quietly cool atmosphere, it’s ideal for travellers seeking an authentic, unhurried slice of island life.

Santanyi is a historic rural town famous for its gold stone architecture. It’s charming, with quaint cobbled streets and a majestic church - all appealing for its slow pace of life.

Sitting between Llucmajor and Santanyi, it’s a mere 8km away from the coast. Constructed from the famous local blonde stone, Campos is rather pretty and, whilst it remains a sleepy rural place, it acts as the administrative centre for this corner of the island which is most famous for its long sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

Cala Figuera is a charming fishing village located on the southeast coast of Mallorca, known for its peaceful charm, traditional character, and stunning natural beauty. Unlike many of the island’s more developed resorts, Cala Figuera has managed to preserve its identity as a working port, offering visitors a genuine slice of Mallorcan maritime life. With its whitewashed fishermen’s cottages, narrow winding inlets, and relaxed atmosphere, this is a destination for those seeking tranquillity, scenic walks, and fresh seafood rather than sandy beaches and nightlife.
