Illetas beach is the main beach, and is more sheltered than the huge stretch of sand that makes up the beach in front of Palma's cathedral, making this one of the nicest beaches in the Bay of Palma.

Follow a rugged track through pine wood forest to find this beautiful cove on the western tip of Palma Bay. No public transport will bring you here, so you’ll need to taxi through Calvia’s residential streets, or drive from Magaluf or Palma Nova before walking the last stretch to the bay. Ultimately, the best way to arrive here is on the water by boat, with a decent depth and sandy seabed both perfect for anchoring.

The painter and sculptor Joan Miro spent most of his life in Barcelona, but both his wife and mother were Mallorcan and he always longed to return to the scene of his childhood holidays to draw inspiraton from what he called "the light of Mallorca".

Es Baluard Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art  was opened in 2004 as a cultural institution for research and dissemination of Balearic & Mediterranean art from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The square takes its name from Sa Llotja, the impressive Gothic market exchange building which overlooks it from one side. The decorative sandstone facade, contrasted with the lush green palm trees, makes for an idyllic setting. The plaza opens out towards the seaside promenade on one side and, on the other, tables and chairs from the surrounding restaurants spread out across the cobblestones. A great spot during the day and the evening.

With twin turrets and an angel over the door, this 15th-century seafront building looks half-castle, half-church. In fact it is neither.

The golf course in Andratx was designed by the famous Gleneagles resort in Scotland and opened in 2000. The 18-hole championship course is well known as one of the most difficult and challenging in Mallorca.

The views from the 8th and 11th holes alone are worth a visit to the T Golf and Country Club Poniente. The recently renovated clubhouse is a perfect place to relax and unwind after an unforgettable day of golf.

There are two courses at Son Antem Golf Club - the masterpieces of Francisco López Segalés, one of Spain’s leading course designers. Since 1990, he has designed courses in all the major resort areas of Spain. With Son Antem, Segalés has garnered rave reviews from professional golfers and vacationing ones alike.

The Son Muntaner golf course forms part of the Arabella golf complex in Son Vida, to the north west of Palma de Mallorca. Created in 2000 by Kurt Rossknecht, the course is considered one of the more challenging on Majorca. The fairways and the greens have carefully placed bunkers and some water hazards that require the golfer to place their shot as accurately as possible.

An 18-hole golf course, par 71, 5.539 m long from white tees. The course was designed by Bradford Benz and opened in 1985. It is situated close to Portocolom.

Maioris Golf Club is located 15 minutes west of Palma de Mallorca on the south coast of Mallorca. The course was created in 2006 by Dieter Cabus and is of a championship standard.

There are still people who can remember when Palma Nova was just a village. Portals Nous is a small town 10km to the west of Palma. This is the place to stay if you want to spend time at the swanky marina of Puerto Portals.

Illetas (also known as Ses Illetes) is a small, stylish resort tucked into the southwest coast of Mallorca just a few kilometres from Palma. Port Adriano is a luxury marina perched on the southwestern coastline of Mallorca. Designed by French architect Philippe Starck, it opened in 2012 and currently stands as one of the most modern marinas in the Mediterranean.
